The Glass Butterfly. Etc.

Figures 7 & 8 show the beginning & the end of the fifth row of the bezel, the last row of Delica beads.

FIg. 7: Starting at the black arrow. pick up 1 bead of row five & needle through the next bead of row four. Continue adding the beads of row four to within the last bead.

Fig. 8: Pick up the last bead for row five & needle through the beads in a figure eight pattern following the thread path from black through red.

The thread is now in position to add the first row of size 15 seed beads.

Fog. 9: The first row of size 15 seed beads is started. Continue adding the row one bead at a time, needling through the next bead of row five. Pull the threads taut after adding each bead or two.

Fig. 10: After adding the last bead of row six, needle through the beads in a figure eight pattern as shown to position the thread to add the next row.

Add the second row of size 15 turquoise colored seed beads.

The final row of size 15 seed beads will be added after the bezel has been attached to the cab.

Fig. 11: The bezel is ready to be stitched together at the narrow ends & added to the cabochon.

Fig. 12: The bezel is around the cabochon & the final row of size 15 beads has been added.

FIg. 13: Beads added to the back of the cabochon will help hold it in place. You might find it helpful to add some of these beads to the back before adding the last row of size 15 seed beads.

Be sure the initial strands of beads added to the back go from side to side across the back of the cabochon.
